Kids learn early on about the festivals, rituals and dances, and this little guy was really fascinated with the dancing monks. The masks, and colors of their costumes no doubt attracted him. He stood for the longest while just watching, and here, he shifted his position just slightly as if he was about to lift his leg, too, but he never did. But the moment was still worth recording!
Out of hundreds of images of dancing monks, this is one of my favorites because of the little boy. It’s ironic that he’s dressed in western style clothing – will he one day become a dancer, or will he move into a different realm, as times change there? Hard to know.
Not sure where you’re coming from with this comment, ‘Bhoutan’ – but I run a spell checker when I type my posts so it’s hard to believe that there’s that many mispelled words in them.
haha, Kalani. No iphone, but our driver had one! A past client left their old 3G with him. wow…
Thanks for commenting!
Is that an iphone in his hand? I bet all the photographers at nat geo are trying to get shots like those. Really fabulous, tickles my brain as your photos usually do.
Really cute. This image works for me with all the great colors, and the separation of the dancers. Great capture.
Thanks, Bob!
