If you want to create realistic Lens, Camera, or filter effects on the computer, this new plug-in by Topaz will be very useful. Topaz is offering a special on it currently. Now through May 27, 2011, you can purchase the software for $49.99, vs. the regular price of $79.99.
I took this one image and ran it through two different lens effects in the program. Really neat effects. The first, above, is a center focus, similar to a Lensbaby effect, dare I suggest! The second was a zoom blur. Each of these offers different adjustments to vary the effect to your liking. And like their other plug-ins, the user interface is easy to use, along with the user guide that comes with each plug-in.
Go here and type in “lenstastic” to get the lower price.

Thank you, Bob.
I’ve been in Morocco leading a tour since May 12th and have had little time to keep up with emails and blogging but we’re having a great time!
Best,
Brenda
I like what you did with the image Brenda. I’m looking forward to trying out this software.
Unfortunately, Topaz Labs does not provide customer support through a phone number on their website. In fact, Topaz Labs is not even listed in the Dallas phone book. Their parent company’s (Parametric Technology Corp.) phone number has been disconnected. If you want to contact Topaz you have to do it through an email, and hope they respond. I tried and never got an answer. I had to trash my Photoshop and reinstall it after a Topaz plugin crashed. I lost hours of difficult edits. Not worth the risk to try again ….
I’m sorry to hear that hasi – I have not had any problems and they always respond to my emails. I have not had to call them for anything yet, however, so I can’t answer to that. I would suggest emailing them your dissatisfaction about all of this. I can’t believe that they simply don’t care as a company who wants people to continue to buy their products…
Hasi, what if you gave me your email address and I wrote to Topaz on your behalf? I don’t know how else to help.
Thanks for your concern, Brenda. But I’m not interested. I’ve already had several problems with Topaz software. I don’t know why I didn’t learn after the first experience, but I certainly have now. The plug-in market is very competitive and other developers care enough to provide access to their clients in whatever way is possible to maintain their customer base. I think Topaz is after as much money as they can make for as little investment of resources as possible. I don’t like that philosophy, and I don’t like that they hide.
