Adjust 4 used with Simplify Preset and adjustments to color saturation.
I’ve been trying to type, but had minor surgery on my left hand, and it’s so numb that I can’t feel the keys! That’s why the silence on the blog the past few days. But I wanted to get this noticed out to you today, as Topaz Labs has just released an update to ADJUST. The folks at Topaz have been working hard to make improvements to this program. ADJUST 4 now has a great new look and interface. It’s very similar to Lightroom with the way you work through the various panels. There’s a wonderful collection of presets that are terrific on their own, but also a great starting point for creating your own ‘look’.
I’ve been using this program a lot and really like it. I’ve used it to adjust my images for a normal look, and I’ve used it for creating special effects with satisfaction. It’s an easy and quick way to enhance your photographs and get that special look you want. I found it very easy to use with this new interface, personally.
From today through March 15th only, you can get a discount on your purchase. With the coupon code “newadjust“, you can save $10 on Adjust alone. The same coupon code will also work to save 20% on the bundle, or bundle upgrades of Topaz Products. Simply enter that coupon code on the Topaz site when purchasing the software.
Nothing done – just exported from Lightroom.
Adjust 4 – no presets, just adjustment sliders to improve overall.
Adjust 4 used with Spicify preset, then reopened and used Color Blast with some modifications.
Hope your hand recovers soon, Brenda. Does Topaz do for single images what Photomatix does for multiple images? A bit confused as to what it does over something like Aperture or PS. Thanks!
I’m back able to type normally at last! To answer your question, Scott, you can get a similar look of HDR from Topaz Adjust or Detail with single images. But it also offers presets for enhancing your images artistically that Aperture can’t do (or Lightroom) and it would take a lot of effort in Photoshop to achieve the looks you can with Topaz’s Adjust product. Take a look back in my blog entries under the special effects category – Fun Friday posting – and you’ll see some other examples. Also check out the examples on Topaz’s site in their gallery. For the price, this software is really terrific in my opinion. Hope that helps.
i love lines and energy, maybe too much in my previous work. i guess im trying to incorporate more connection to life as part of trying to understand this gesture concept. oh well need experimenting, wont forget subject dependency and overall composition. back to serving lattes for now! glad your handa better 🙂
Thanks, Kalani – it wasn’t easy – and I tried the dictation software but still had to correct its mistakes! lol. But I’m doing much better now and my hand is functioning.
Yes, curves, softer lines often express a gentle mood, a calmer effect. But the straight lines and angles have great power – and energy – so don’t abandon them entirely…they all have a place and it’s often subject dependent as to what you’ll find and use.
i think i found out what was missing in my search for a vision. i noticed your photos have an organic look to them, even the negative space in your abstracts like the top blog photo. i think that creates a connection to life which is a base for setting off emotions. ive started looking for curves to add an organic look to my photos, which i never did before. it was all right angles and repeating straight lines. im getting closer hopefully =. i wish you a fast recovery. thanks for blogging one handed, thats dedication!
