This is my tribute to Eliot Porter and a host of other landscape photographers that inspired me when I was learning photography. I was so drawn to the beauty of hardwood forests, (deciduous forests). In Slovenia right now, we are at close to peak, and rains have already taken down some leaves, which actually leaves the forest easier to photograph. I liked how the leaves were accents to the structure of the tree trunks, how we could see into the forest to trees beyond, something that is much harder to do when the leaves are full on the trees. The soft contrast of diffused light also helped me create this scene.

Having fun scouting for our next year’s tour in Slovenia! We’ll be using a pro photographer guide who who knows where to be and when to be there, and we’ll be in great hands for our tour!

Enjoy,
