A.
B.
I am finally getting through most of the images from Winter in Yosemite (my oh-too-brief trip) and my wildlife refuge images. In a previous post I had shown a foggy scene of birds, and I have several. Each of them is different, and the two here were made when it was even more foggy. But I like the mood in these. They are different than the standard, albeit exciting mass lift-off scenes. They both show the activity of geese coming in for a landing, flying about, etc., and the mood of what it’s often like in the central valley in winter, but they are different. So I thought I’d ask you which of them you liked best, and why. Comments are truly appreciated!
Hi Brenda,
I like the A picture as the Birds in that picture are better placed to form a good composition
specially the ones in the middle.
Thank you Saify for your input. I too like those two birds in the middle area…but will wait a few more days to see final opinions.
Although I prefer the slightly greater sharpness in B, the arrangement of the geese in A is better, and that tips the balance for me.
Thanks for your opinion, David. I truly appreciate it and we’ll see how this averages out in a few days!
Hi Brenda,
Both wonderful photos. I like B the best. The birds in flight are slightly more distinct in their shape with the wings, makes them more easily recognizable to me given the very low contrast of the scene. The bottom of image B seems to give me a better visual anchor to the frame, something that I like in a fog photography, so i don’t get as much spatial disorientation. Just my 2 cents worth, hope that helps. It will be interesting to see the comments of others. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for your detailed response, Ron. I truly appreciate it. I’ll see what happens in a few more days on responses.
Hi Brenda,
I like “A”. I like that the bottom of the image is weighted and the 2 ducks in the middle of the frame are well placed in a good spot. “B” seems too scattered is all. Thanks for sharing!
Hi friend! I was just talking with Jed last night and said “I need to give Liz a call”! Thanks for your input – I am holding back on my preferences for a bit to see what other responses come it. I have to check Facebook too, because there may e some there, as well. Thank you!
