This picture posted here is inspired by a friend’s work.
I just finished listening to a great webinar presentation by my friend Ibarionex Perello, over at Peachpit.com. Based on his new book Chasing the Light, (New Riders) Ibarionex was inspiring and informative. The presentation was informative, concise and he kept it simple, focusing (no pun intended!) on the attributes of light and the aesthetic of light – rather than fstops and shutter speeds. He spoke about learning to see light, and how light directs us in the frame, and how you can use light to draw people to what you want them to see.
Check out PeachPit Press’ website page for when the webcast will be archived. And I would highly recommend his book. You can buy it here.
Thanks, Jason. It was a nice morning to walk around the town and in color this just didn’t have the impact that it did when I converted it to black and white – which I did using NIK Silver Efex Pro, by the way. But color or black and white, it was the light that caught my eye for sure!
Very nice use of the light and shadows here.
