This morning many of the group got up to witness and photograph the traditional raising of the huge flag in the zocalo, main square, of the historic district in Mexico city. It’s unusual to be photographing military, but like the changing of the guard in England, this is mostly for show anymore here, and they were all fine with 18 or so of us running around with cameras, even tripods. It was a funny site to see people lying down, kneeling, standing, squatting, all in the name of getting a different picture. We had our ‘gym’ class in the process!
I was drawn to the long shadows of the soldier created by the low-angled backlight.
We’re off to San Cristóbal de las Casa today by plane.
NOTE: I’ve just been informed there is still one space on the Guatemala Dream Team Tour in June. Please contact Jeremy Woodhouse at info@pixelchrome.com if you are interested in getting on this trip.
Our Oregon Coast Instructional Tour is currently full, we are taking names for a waiting list.
We still have room for the Palouse, and Yosemite. Please visit the Workshops link above to view our 2011 schedule and link from there to pages with more info on each event.
